Charged Particles is a Bay Area jazz trio known for blending Latin jazz, classical influences, and electric jazz into a vibrant, improvisation-driven sound. The group features Murray Low on keyboards, Aaron Germain on bass, and Jon Krosnick on drums—three seasoned musicians who bring technical skill and creative energy to every performance. Their repertoire includes original compositions and fresh arrangements of jazz standards, all delivered with a balance of structure and spontaneity.

The band has performed at festivals, jazz clubs, and concert halls across the U.S. and internationally, including appearances at Birdland (NYC), Blues Alley (DC), Yoshi’s (SF), and the Stanford Jazz Festival. They’ve collaborated with artists such as Nguyen Le, Kevyn Lettau, David Garfield, and Rocío Guitard, and have opened for acts like Al DiMeola, Stanley Jordan, and Yanni. Their performances are known for their dynamic interplay and acoustic sensibility, even when using electric instruments.

Charged Particles has released multiple recordings, including Sparks and Live at the Baked Potato, which received airplay on hundreds of jazz radio stations and praise from publications like Jazziz and Jazz Times. Their tribute project honoring saxophonist Michael Brecker, featuring Bay Area tenor player Tod Dickow, has earned international acclaim and led to performances with Brecker’s brother, trumpeter Randy Brecker.

With a history spanning three decades and several lineup evolutions, Charged Particles continues to push boundaries while honoring jazz traditions. Their performances offer a compelling mix of musical depth, rhythmic drive, and collaborative spirit—making them a standout act for jazz festivals and concert series alike.
